Sihayo High School Learner Policy


Introduction


Sihayo High School is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and social development. This policy outlines the expectations and guidelines for learners to ensure a productive and respectful school community.



School Uniform


The school uniform is an essential part of our identity and must be worn correctly.



_Girls:_


- White shirt with striped green and white tie

- Apple green skirt

- Black shoes

- White socks

- Green jersey with white lines around neck, wrist, and abdomen

- Navy blazer

- Green and white tracksuit



_Boys:_


- White shirt with striped green and white tie

- Navy (Chinos) trousers

- Black shoes

- Black socks

- Green jerseyGreen jersey with white lines around neck, wrist, and abdomen

- Navy Blazer

- Green and white tracksuit

NB: Grasshopper Suede Softee Shoe are not allowed.



School Hours


- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

- Friday: 7:30 am - 1:00 pm



Code of Conduct


Learners are expected to:


1. Respect teachers, staff, and peers

2. Attend classes regularly and punctually

3. Engage in constructive and respectful communication

4. Refrain from bullying, harassment, and abuse

5. Report incidents or concerns to teachers or school management



Prohibited Items and Behaviors


The following are strictly prohibited:


1. Drugs, alcohol, and illegal substances

2. Weapons, including knives and firearms

3. Smoking or vaping on school premises

4. Hairstyles or haircuts deemed distracting or disruptive

5. Misuse of cellphones during school hours

6. Bullying, abuse, or harassment



Disciplinary Measures


Offenses will be addressed according to the severity and frequency:


1. Verbal warnings

2. Detention

3. Parent meetings

4. Suspension

5. Expulsion



Reporting Incidents


Learners are encouraged to report incidents or concerns to:


1. Class teachers

2. School counselors

3. School management

4. Police (in cases of bullying, abuse, or crime)



Cellphone Policy


Misuse of cellphones during school hours will result in:


1. Confiscation of phone

2. Detention

3. Parent meeting



Amendments


This policy may be reviewed and updated annually or as needed.
